Caring Beyond the Home, Into the Heart of Our Community
Fall Basket winner, Rynda Ellis

“Community is the heartbeat of everything we do. At A Helping Hand Home Care, we believe that caring for families goes beyond the walls of a home – it extends into the neighborhoods, organizations, and events that make our town so special. Being involved in our community allows us to give back, build connections, and strengthen the circle of care that surrounds us all.”

– Anslee Wilson

Each month, I’ll be sharing highlights of how A Helping Hand Home Care is staying involved in our community. From supporting local events and health initiatives to partnering with organizations that serve seniors and families, our goal is to be more than a care provider – we want to be an active neighbor and friend. These moments remind us of the strength and compassion that come when we walk together as a community.

2nd Annual Doubling Down Dementia, Northeast Georgia Dementia Symposium

Last month, we were proud to have partnered with the Beyond Dementia Coalition at the recent 2nd Annual Doubling Down Dementia, Northeast Georgia Dementia Symposium. It was a full day of offering an amazing array of presentations and workshops by some of the region’s most prominent subject experts on all matters related to Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia.

Beyond Dementia Coalition seeks to reduce stigma and inspire people through awareness and education to recognize, engage, assist, and ultimately embrace people living with dementia as valued and beloved members of the community. They are committed to bringing dementia education and other support programs to Georgians in collaboration with national and local organizations.

These programs are available to caregivers, both paid and unpaid, as well as friends, neighbors, first responders, businesses, faith groups, and all members of the community. Beyond Dementia Coalition was founded after seeing a critical need for more awareness about and acceptance of people living with dementia.

Thank you to all of you who stopped by to say hello, and Congratulations to our Fall Basket winner, Rynda Ellis.

Golf, Community & More

Fight the 'Nile Golf Tournament To kick of the month of October, AHHHC partnered with Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation’s annual Medical Center Open Golf Tournament that benefits local community initiatives to help the health of the community. This unique program addresses critical healthcare talent shortages by connecting NGHS employees and local students with opportunities to grow professionally within the healthcare industry. By offering development programs, scholarships, and investing in local education programs with regional colleges and high schools, these efforts will build a strong talent pipeline. More importantly, this initiative will create meaningful career opportunities for future healthcare leaders in our region.

A Helping Hand Home Care was honored to be one of the many sponsors for the David Carmon’s Fight the Nile Golf Tournamanet on October 3, 2025.  A  longtime Gainesville resident and Gainesville High School graduate that was bit by a mosquito in 2019 that carried the West Nile virus. David experienced a severe reaction that led to paralysis and a need for around-the clock care.

Despite the challenges, he has been actively participating in fundraising efforts to support his recovery. His story highlights the importance of community support and the power of perseverance in overcoming life’s obstacles.
